In June 1996, the Model A Owners of Canada put on the very first international MAFCA Meet. It was a great success, and was remarkable for the unusually wide diversity of Meet-related events... everything from traditional judging and technical seminars, to fashions and even an historical presentation about Model A production in Canada. The all day tour took us through some really beautiful countryside and ended up at an agricultural museum where many Model A'ers had pictures of their cars taken in front of an era gas station. Following that Meet, the Canadian Model A Club decided to share a substantial portion of the financial success from their Meet with MAFFI. Thus, in Reno this past June, Ross Milne of Brampton, Ontario, presented $1,000 to MAFFI on behalf of the Model A Owners of Canada.
The Model A Owners of Canada feel it makes very good sense, certainly in terms of preserving the Model A for future generations, to share their abundance with a non-profit, educational organization such as MAFFI. Indeed, they wish to challenge future national meet organizers to allocate some of their financial success in a similar manner. THANK YOU, CANADA!
